I've literally just figured out how to fix it. Play until you get to when the instructor asks for your name, then start a new game and press skip. It's gonna skip "past" the instructor asking your name, and allow you to input your name. Hope this helps!
Edit: I find the instructor's dialogue getting stuck a lot, going to main menu, reloading your save and then skipping will allow you to continue.
